The redwoods have always had a bit of a mythic aura for me.
One of my first memorable family vacations as a kid was to the redwoods the same summer that Return of the Jedi came to theaters featuring those same trees as the setting for the movie's final battle on the Endor moon. I think I spent the whole trip fantasizing I was part of that epic adventure and looking for ewoks.
This particular grove is where they shot the speeder bike chase in Return of the Jedi.
