After the Springs Fire - Sycamore Canyon
New growth amidst some burnt out sycamore trees. We saw several of these sycamore trees that looked like they had their innards scooped out like this one.

Ventura Pier at Sunset
I would never consider myself a beach person even though I was born in Newport Beach and I've lived my whole life within an hour's drive of a beach, but I do have to admit there's something refreshing and soothing about a sunset on the beach. Especially in autumn when there aren't as many people.

Acorns in Dead Tree
I always like to seek out trees (alive or dead) that have great character. This one I noticed had many pock marks from woodpeckers. Only after I got up close did I notice that the woodpeckers had put acorns in the holes.

Sacred Datura Bloom with Daisies
This beautiful flower offset the yellow of the daisy remnants was taken on the Fullerton Loop trail. I nearly stepped on this gem while taking photos of the nearby Brea Dam. You never know what you'll stumble across while you're out and about.
